House Solar Panels and How to Install Them

Installing house solar panels can save you a lot of money that you would otherwise have had to spend on electricity. Not only do you save money by installing house solar panels, you also get the satisfaction of knowing that you are doing what you can to help the environment.

While many people opt to hire a professional to install house solar panels on their home, you can install them yourself together with help from a friend. You would need to first of all purchase the right tools and equipment for the job: solar panels, mounts and rails, steel bolts, a drill, tar and safety goggles. Most of these materials can be purchased at a local hardware store; however, you may find it difficult to locate a place that sells solar panels unless you purchase them online. How many panels you need would depend on the size of your home and the size of the panels.

Once you have the needed materials, you will need to choose a spot on the roof where the sunlight shines all or nearly all the time. Many people install their roof solar panels facing the southwest, as those panels installed in this direction tend to get the most sunlight. Be sure there are no trees or nearby buildings that would block the sunlight from reaching the roof panels.

Next, you will need to find the supporting rafters. These can easily be found using a stud finder. Pre-drill holes in the middle of the rafters so that they do not split. The next step is to install the mounts in the holes using stainless steel bolts. After that, seal the area around the mounts with tar, fasten the metal rails onto the mounts and then install the solar panels on the mounts. Securing them with steel bolts will help to hold them securely in place.

Lastly, install the conduit and run wires to connect the panels to the inverter. You will need to give them around eight hours of sunlight before you can switch over to solar power.

If for any reason you do not feel up to the job of putting in these panels yourself, you should not hesitate to hire a professional to do it for you. Installing solar panels can be a bit difficult, especially if you do not have much experience with carpentry or do-it-yourself home improvement projects. Call a number of professionals in order to see which one can do the installation at a good price; in some cases the place that sells the panels can send professionals to your home to do the installation for an additional fee.

Christmas Sales Bosch TI18 18-Piece Titanium Twist Drill Bit Assortment with Plastic Case Overview

Bosch titanium drill bits offer the best durability and speed for general-purpose drilling applications. While the hardness of their titanium nitride coating protects the bits from chipping and cracking, the lubricity defends the bits from heat buildup--the number one cause of product failure. Bosch titanium drill bits last six times longer than black oxide bits. And their speed helix design allows them to penetrate materials three times faster than standard bits, which means extended battery life for your cordless drill. You can use the bits to drill into steel, copper, aluminum, brass, oak, maple, MDF, pine, PVC, polycarbonate, acrylic, ABS, nylon, composite materials, and common stainless steel. The 135-degree split point starts on contact with no walking or skating, and no center punch is required.
